About

Hello net users!

It is important to have a healthy relationship with pleasure, wherever you derive it.

Cake is special. It is a foodstuff that is slaved over and presented on special occasions to remind the recipient that they’re loved. It is our best offering. It is our spongy well wishes. It is a delight, a treat and without a question a pleasure. But it is not often associated with an athletes diet unless it is prefixed with a painful set of qualitative terms; moderation, discipline, sacrifice, will power.

I am a man with a passion for baking and the consumption of cake that frequently breaks free of the strait jacket of healthy eating.

BUT

I am also a man that has agreed to do a marathon and I must train! The cake ‘run’ to the local bakery can no longer count as my weekly exercise.

This blog is about combining these two seemingly conflicting ingredients in the hope of bringing you something informative and delectable. After all if the great Heston Blumenthal can make us consume crab ice cream how hard can it be..

I hope to write on my journey across the gastronomic wasteland, which is often associated with training for a competitive event, with my momentary pauses to catch my cake.

I would love any feedback: comments and advice are welcome!

Stephen
